Telehealth Consent
What Telehealth Is
Telehealth is the use of secure video or other electronic communication to deliver a medical consultation when you and your provider are in different locations. When telehealth is offered by Miss Caerus Wellness, this page explains what to expect and asks for your informed consent.
Benefits and Limitations
Telehealth can improve access and convenience. It also has limitations: your provider cannot physically examine you, some conditions cannot be fully evaluated remotely, and technical problems may interrupt a visit. Your provider may determine that an in-person visit is necessary.
Identity and Location
For a telehealth visit, you may be asked to verify your identity, and you should be in a private location. Your provider must be licensed in the state where you are located at the time of the visit. Telehealth services are intended for patients physically located in Florida unless otherwise permitted by law.
Privacy and Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect telehealth visits, but electronic communication carries inherent privacy and security risks. Please join from a private, secure connection. Information from your telehealth visit is documented in your record and protected as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Emergencies
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not use this website, messaging, or telehealth for urgent or emergency medical needs.
Your Consent and Right to Withdraw
Participating in a telehealth visit indicates your consent to receive care by that method. You may withhold or withdraw your consent at any time without affecting your right to future care, and you may request an in-person visit instead where available.
Contact Us
Questions about this policy can be directed to Miss Caerus Wellness through our Contact page. Please do not include medical or other sensitive health information in a website message.
Telehealth availability and specific Florida telehealth-practice requirements should be confirmed by the Practice and, where appropriate, counsel.
